The case deals with a situation in which an established precision engineering manufacturing firm was entering a new business venture. In the past, the firm had dealt with the OEM and institutional buyer markets, but the new venture Syed Bhais Lighting Ltd (SBLL), would be in a consumer mass-market area. SBL used information technology primarily to provide operational support, and its implementation process had been somewhat ad hoc. |
