This case examines the asset liability management techniques used by a foreign commercial bank in Pakistan. The decision required by the financial manager was to see whether the financial position of the bank was in accordance with regulatory requirements and the bank's operating strategy. Issues involved help students to examine the structure of bank assets and liabilities and to conduct an ROE analysis. The case helps explore the effect of the regulations of the State Bank of Pakistan on the operations of a commercial bank.en_US
