Abstract: A young Assistant Manager Administration, at Shakarganj had to draw up a proposal to improve the inventory management system at the factory. While the balance sheet of the factory showed an 8,000 item inventory of Rs 24 million, items worth only Rs 7.6 million had been used. The case outlines the prevalent inventory management system with a view to recommend improvements, and at times, innovation.
