Abstract: A lot of NGOs start their operations without giving much consideration to financial reporting and funds generation management for future sustainability. This case is written with the basic objective of analyzing Decent Welfare Society’s management of resources including Zakat and donations. It is obvious that the initial funding was provided by the Bashir family and as of date the family had not backed down from its generous support for DWS. The question now arises for Dr Ijaz Bashir how to make the operations financially viable so as to ensure that DWS can finance its core competency of cleft lip and palate operations which is clearly an expensive task. After discussions with his team, Dr Ijaz Bashir was considering his options for holding free medical camps.
