Abstract: Javed Aziz, Chief Accountant, Premier Tanneries analyzed the trade policies of Premier, and also the export incentives provided by the government of Pakistan. He had to present a report on the use of letters of credit by the company to the Managing Director, Sohail Ahmad. Teaching objectives of the case include introducing students to a commercial letter of credit and to exploring the need for such letters, as opposed to using other methods of trade financing. Students also learn to identify issues relating to government policy which affect an exporting company.
