Here the author takes a look at the romantic masnavi, the classical genre of Urdu literature, focusing on love-adventure poems written in northern India from the seventeenth to the nineteenth centuries. For her study and analysis, the author focuses on the most renowned classical masnavis in Urdu written by Meer Taqi Mir, Mir Hasan Dehlevi, Ghulam Hamadani Mushafi, Daya Shankar Naseem, and Navab Mirza Shawq
