| Summary, etc | This book is about man's quest for an ideal society. It examines the views of 8 Western philosophers from Plato to Marx and compares their views with those of Iqbal and features of the ideal society established by Prophet Muhammad at Medina. While examining the causes for the general stagnation of Muslim societies all over the world, it brings to the fore that training of Ego was in fact the most vital and enduring unit of social strucure that could possibly help rejuvenate those societies. The study thus lays emphasis on knowledge of the self, history and nature as the supreme cultivators of human Ego. Consequently, the education of Ego is seen to play a pivotal role in laying down the foundations on which an ideal society could possibly be erected. |
